I stopped adding new features to the X2 for a while due to its problems (especially logging and syncing), but now that I think some of the problems are about to be fixed, I’m opening this topic for people to put their ideas for new features!
In plane mode, change heading from direction eg NW to degrees eg 290. I know it currently shows both but the direction is a large font and the degree is a small font. I’d rather see the degrees in large
I posted about this issue to the Facebook community earlier but as I faced the issue after a while last weekend, here it is again:
The X2 should be able to detect that it shoud switch back to plane mode if the ascent continues if it has erroneously detected free fall and switched to free fall mode. This happens sometimes when another jumper has exited the plane at for example 1600m altitude and the plane continues to 4000m. The main disadvantage of being in free fall mode too early is that then it’s not possible to take advantage of the GPS features for spotting etc.. And of course the jump logs can give you a whopping 708s free fall form 1600m =) Nothing fatal, just slightly annoying when it happens.
my requests are less about the device itself, and more about the platform, so bear with me on that:
better/open exporting tools - an integration with other logbook platforms by exporting the logs in an easier way would be quite helpful;
Changelog/better versioning - looking at the website right now, I’m not sure if I need to update my X2 or not - there’s no information in the download page about what is the current version of the firmware, or what are the changes in the latest release - and publishing md5/sha signature for the package is something that should be done.
I’m working a lot on the app, although today felt like Apple was making me crawl through barbed wire trying to fix app certificates in getting an update to the App Store…
As for versioning, it is a bit chaotic right now, but if you follow the X2 updates thread (in the Announcements category of this forum) I’ll be putting the updates there, i.e. latest firmware, latest update utility, etc. (hence one of the big uses of this forum)
